Dear Santa...

Hi Dolls,

Christmas is soon approaching and there is just so much I want. Where shall I start?

1. Opi 'Rainbow Connection' Nail Varnish
This is part of the Muppet's collection and I've wanted it for a while. I wasn't sure at first but after seeing a few swatches from other bloggers I definitely want it now.

I've run out now and this is my ultimate scent. It smells amazing and I'm missing it :(

3. Mac False Lashes
We all love a good false lash and Mac ones are pretty good. My Aunt works for MAC so hopefully I will find these beauty's under my tree. I would love Lash 31, Lash 4 & Lash 21.

I absolutely adore this set, so much so my mum bought it for my cousin and has hidden it *Straight face* I currently have a small obsession with rollers and big hair and think this 6 piece set would be fantastic. (Maybe i should stop watching Desperate Scousewives) The set includes Shampoo 250ml, Conditioner 250ml, Firm Hold hair spray 250ml, Volumising Mousse 200ml, 4 Large Rollers and 4 Medium Rollers. Not bad for £18 (And its included in the 3 for 2 in Boots)

I love a good bath so I would Die for this box. It contains everything a girl could need. Bath Bombs, Massage Bar, Shower Scrub, Lip Balm, Soaps, Shower Gel, Dusting Powder etc. It's pricey at £69.95 but it would defiantly last a year no? If I'm not lucky enough to get this then I would love the Melting Snowman Bath Bomb or the Gingerbread House Bubble Bar. These are more purse friendly from £1.95 each.

6. Superdrug Voucher
I am forever spending money in Superdrug. Like seriously, its become a huge problem for me and my bank account ha-ha. A cheeky voucher would allow me beautiful new products without the guilt ;)

I love Benefit Cosmetics and my Passion for Mascara lead me to this beauty. I haven't dared treat myself too it in the hope someone would like to buy it for me for Christmas.

That's just some of the stuff I want. To be honest, there is so much I'd probably kill Santa off by giving him a heart attack. Ha-ha!

Is there anything you guys are praying for?

Dead Sea Spa Magik Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi My Lovelies,

I was doing a bit of Christmas shopping with the Mother, and as we was in Debenhams we saw a Dead Sea Spa section. When it comes to beauty products she's a lot like me so of course we had look. Pouring over the products I noticed this beauty.

I straighten my hair about three times a week and wear it up a lot for work so it can become quite dry and damaged. I swear by my Pantene Pro V Repair shampoo & conditioner but I always believe my hair needs a change sometime and extra vitamins.

It had a huge sticker on it letting me know it was reduced from £35 to £10.50. BARGAIN! I snapped this up and have never looked back.

In all honesty, I originally bought this product because of the price and I've heard many good things about this brand so thought why not? As I got it home and inspected the goods closer I became even more excited. Lets start with the Mineral Shampoo shall we? Well firstly it includes Certified Organic ingredients. Having a look at the ingredient Jargon it includes Harmonised water, Beeswax, Chamomille, Lemon Balm, Leaf extracts and other essential oils. So far so good. Secondly, It claims No Parabens, a bunch of chemicals that are used as preservatives and make our beauty products last longer. Thirdly the list of benefits is pretty impressive. They claim it: Soothes an irritated scalp, Revitalises damaged hair, Alleviates Dandruff and Normalises oil & Moisture balance. They even have a quote from a user who says "Finally... I have found a miracle solution for my dry, itchy scalp" I am a sucker for good Marketing and PR.

After my inspection it was time for the real test. It's not like a Shampoo I've ever used before. It reminds me more of a runnyish sun cream although it does lather up. If you like Herbal Essences and fruity smells this isn't it. It doesn't smell of anything really but it smells clean.

Next it's the Conditioning Scalp and Body Mud. This too includes organic ingredients and contains no Parabeans. This stuff looks like mud and smells like a mud face mask which isn't exactly pleasant for your hair but hey, as long as it works I'll do anything. The consistency is quite thick but it spreads well and they instruct to to leave it on for 2-3 minutes to let the minerals do there magic.

A few hours later (I normally let my hair dry naturally) I was really impressed with what I saw. My hair was super shiny and soft and felt really hydrated and healthy. It didn't smell of my normal sweet fragrances but the improvement in the condition of my hair is well worth it. I am obsessed with this stuff. So much so, that I've added another pack to my Xmas list and bought 2 for friends.

In this particular pack I also received a Hair Magik Serum which is like a intense conditioner. I haven't used this yet but if its anything like the other two products it's going to be amazing.

You can buy Dead Sea Spa Magik products from Debenham stores, Amazon or selected Holland & Barrett stores. :)

Has anyone else tried this brand? What did you think?

Glossybox - November ♥

Hi Dolls,

Another month another Glossybox and i'm sad to say I am a little disappointed this month. I'm not the only one by the looks of it, and if us die hard Glossybox fans are dissapointed then it must be bad.

This months theme was "Part 1 of the Christmas Gift Guide" but to be honest I doubt I'll be buying any of these for pressies.

Lets have a look shall we?

left to right
♥ Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps - Full Pack
♥ Dead Sea Spa Magik, Dead Sea Bath Salts - Full Size Pack
♥ Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Shampoo - 40ml sample
♥ Arbonne Hand Creme - 15ml sample
♥ Etro set of 5 perfume samples in Ambra, Etra Etro, Heliotrope, Musk and Vicolo Fiori

I think the reason I am a little disappointed is because we recieved Nail Wraps in Augusts box and last month a chunk of people already recieved Dead Sea Spa Magik products. I didn't think I would be saying this but it seems a bit, well, Samey. This suprises me because there a hundreds of thousands of products in this world us girls Adore but Glossybox have sent us the same kind of things? Also, Perfume samples? Were getting one every month now and I Love experiencing new frangrances but the ones they have sent have been foul (well in my own personal opinion)

Lets look at this months samples and I'll try and tell you why they are foul.

Top to bottom

Ambra - Smells like a spicy disinfectant. Great for Hospitals, not so great on the flesh.
Etra Etro - One word Lemons. If I wanted to smell like washing up liquid I would bathe in it.
Heliotrope - Another one word description. Almonds. I personally hate them. Personally being the opperative word.
Musk - Even though it is entitled musk it's very light and femine so this gets a so-so.
Vicolo Fiori - My favourite of the bunch. I can't place it but it's floral, sweet and romantic.I've owned something like this before so I will use this one. The rest I will give away.

Although I am disappointed I am pleased about the Bath Salts. I'm currently using Dead Spa Magik Shampoo & Conditioner and it's amazing (a review is coming soon) and this brand has always worked for me. I am defo a bath kind of girl and I can't wait to sink into the tub and try these out. They have just been given a Beauty award too so they must be good. My mum has really bad arthritis in her back in the winter so hopefully they will help eliviate some of that stiffness after a day at work. It's definately perfect for winter as its known to alleviate dry skin and flaky conditions too. I personally do not like the Nail Wraps but this is only because of the effect. I got black stripes but they sent out Leopard print ones to others and I wouldn't have minded them. The Arbonne Hand Cream is Meh. First off its a hand cream. Most woman by now have picked one up and secondly it's just not very exciting is it?

I have reminded myself that they cater for thousands of people of whom they have never met, and are in completely different age brackets and like completely different things. This however hasn't taken the edge off.

I really feel for anyone that has had this as their first box. All that built up excitement would have been for nothing. Although I am not impressed this month, This is my 5th box and the other four I have genuinely loved. I won't be cancelling just yet but they better not send something like this out next month. To make up for this they will need to pull something quite spectacular out of the bag for Christmas but I have faith and I think they will.

What did you guys think?

Desire Clothing's 'Britain's Best Blogger' Competition Entry

Hi Dolls,

I've just seen this competition on Char's Blog and thought Why not?

From what I understand from Char, you need to pick an item on Desire's website and then do a little post about it. Afterwards Link it to their Twitter or Facebook. Simples! The Prize is £50 to spend online and Britains Best Blogger award. Woohoo!

*This competiton ends on 16th November 2011.

♥  The Item I Love

Lace is bang on trend at the moment and this dress is the essence of feminine. It's one of those dresses that can be used for any purpose, whether its a casual date, a night out or a family celebration. I like this dress in White as I loooove acessories and any colour can be used to style it up. You could have a Tan belt with Tan heels or what about red lipstick and red shoes for a bit more glamour? It's the perfect blank canvas in a beautiful fabric. You could wear a big statement necklace thanks to the higer neckline or something more delicate and floaty for a more relaxed style. The possibilities with this dress are endless and as a fan of lace, I'm a fan of this!

What do you guys like on the site?

Freebie of the week - Handbag perfume ♥

Hey Dolls,

I've come across another rather juicy freebie and wanted to share it.

♥ Free Fergie 'Outspoken Intense' handbag perfume from Avon 15ml
What a perfect freebie for the christmas season? It will keep you smelling nice and will fit into your clutch bag ;)
You do need to pay £1.75 P&P though, and they only have 5,000 in stock so I would hurry. Although you have to pay P&P you could get this as a little stocking filler for a perfume lover, or for yourself to keep you going through all the christmas parties.

Get it here: http://avonshop.co.uk/shop/landing.asp?department=very

Also, I had a nosy and Avon have a big sale on. On the link at the top of the page it will say 'Stocking fillers from 75p' click on that for the sale items. Good stuff huh?.. Makes christmas a little easier on the Visa card. Ha-ha.

Nars Sheer Glow foundation review

Hey Dolls,

The past few weeks I've been trying to find the 'one' in a foundation. I've used friends, blagged little samples and thought long and hard about the ones I've used in my life time.

As part of my military quest, I recently tried the Lancome Teint Idol Ultra which was a huge fail. (Read here) So it was on to the next, and that happened to be Nars Sheer Glow foundation.

All I can say is WOW and YAY! I'm seriously impressed with this beauty.

They say: "A glowing, satin-finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage. Replete with skincare benefits and the NARS Complexion Brightening Formula, skin is hydrated, more luminous, softer and smoother"

2nd Pic - Perfect Coverage
3rd Pic- Little glow on cheeks

This foundation is pretty good. It has a really thin consistency and I can imagine a bottle lasting forever. A small 50p Blob was actually too much for my face. I only had a tiny sachet but it has lasted me 4 whole days. Regardless of the consistency being thin, the coverage is out of this world. I've got quite a few spots on my chin and have always had loads of freckles but my lord, this stuff really does cover. I didn't need concealer or anything!

Another thing I like about this foundation is, unlike some other brands it doesn't dry too quick which gives you the perfect amount of time to blend it in properly. Woohoo! After application I could definitely notice a little glow and my skin looked even and radiant (please see last picture)

After 6 hours of shopping I went home and took another look to see how it lasted and guess what? It's still all intact and no touch up was needed!
The only negative things I have to say about this foundation is the Price. It retails at £29.50 which is quite steep for a foundation however, it would last so long it would be worth it.

A girls hunt for the Holy Grail of foundation is never over so I will be reviewing more in the up and coming weeks.

I have definately put this on my Xmas list and cannot wait to own a full bottle. Here's too radiant, well covered skin.

♥ Week In Pictures ♥

Hi Dolls,

Another week has flown by and guess what that means?.... 7 weeks until Christmas. Woohoo! *I get extremely excited about Christmas btw, I really can't help it*

It's been another busy week but it's been fun and I thought I show you whats been going on.

1♥ I went to see my cousins baby. Where he was 5 weeks premature he is so small. He slept all the way through my visit but hey, least I got to see him.
2♥ The little outfit I just HAD to buy him. (My boyfriend has been getting a little concerned about the amount of time I'm spending shopping for babies and talking about them. It's just that my best friend is pregnant and Jack was born. Honestly! ha ha)
3♥  I had a really stressful 10 hour shift at work so I came home to find my BF had done this. Lovely hot bath with Candles all around it. He really is the best man I've ever met. ♥
4♥ I managed to get a free Starbucks Egg Nog Lattee. Yummm. I really love the cup and it really makes me want to grab a coffee with my girls.
5♥ The Christmas lights are up in Covent Garden.. Ahhhhh.. Love it.

I also went to Zumba last night and OUCH this morning.........

Hope you all had a good week.

Freebie of the Week part 2

This Sunday (6th Nov) the Telegraph is giving away a free 50ml Crabtree and Evelyn Hand Cream.

All you have to do is just fill in the coupon in Sunday's paper and bring it to any of Crabtree & Evelyn’s 37 stores (see list below) to collect your free 50g Hand Therapy.

Apparently there are five of Crabtree & Evelyn’s award-winning hand creams to choose from- India Hicks Island Living, La Source, Gardeners, Iris or Lavender.

Lancome Teint Idol Ultra 7day Trial

Hello Dolls,

Whilst in Selfridges two weeks ago, a Lancome rep asked if I would like a free 7 Day Sample of the Teint Idol Ultra. Obviously I said yes as like most of us, I am dying to find the 'One' in a foundation. She matched me up, told me a bit about the product and sent me off :)

Lancome say: "Foundation stays fresh for 14 hours no need to touch up... Divinely comfortable A record standard of perfection not only for the complexion but also for pleasure on the skin: a full 14 hours of immaculate long-lasting wear without re-touching and without staining clothes. 14 hours of comfort of a soft, smooth texture that leaves skin supple and silky without the “mask” effect. Teint Idole Ultra, a clever blend of performance and comfort in a divinely refined bottle"

I have taken part in the 7 Day challenge and it upsets me to report, I'm not keen on this foundation at all. It has a very strong perfumed smell which I personally don't like in a facial product. On applying, it is very light and I have to admit that it is a dream to apply. This foundation had a lot to live up to as I've read some brilliant reviews about it but it just didn't do it for me. I have a big spot at the moment and although it does cover okayish, the coverage lasted about 2 hours and it started to wear off. Not very impressing for a £28 foundation that claims to last 14 hours without a touch up. Most brands can give a couple of hours coverage anyway so I think I'll be sticking to my £8.99 Maybelline job for now.

*As you can see, it only has an average coverage and you can still see the spots on my chin :(*

I also I wouldn't recommend this foundation as I found it left my face quite dry and under my eyes I had little dry patches. Never cute.

5/10

Back to the drawing board we go....

Has anyone ever used this? What did you think of it?

Freebie of the Week

Hi Dolls,

I love a good freebie, so came up with the brilliant idea to do a 'Freebie of the Week' Post. Whats the point in blogging if you can't share good information?

I will be letting you know about any kind of freebies from make-up to washing powder so keep an eye out girlies.

I have Two freebies of the week to kick things off and both are beauty related. Woohoo! * You probably have seen these two but just incase*

1. L'occitane Hand Cream - 30ml - RRP £7.50.
This beauty is free with this months Marie Claire magazine and comes in a range of 4 scents. Cocoa Flower, Desert Rose, Hibiscus Flower and the original Shea Butter.  I've got desert rose and even though I hate Rose smells I really like this one. It's very sweet but not too overpowering.
I love L'occitane hand creams as they are super moisturising and really do work in the winter months. I am loving the limited edition packaging too. It really does look pretty in my handbag.

2. Nails Inc nail polish - Full Size - RRP £11.
This comes free with this Months Glamour Magazine. eekkk.
It comes in its original packaging (so no ugly 'Free with Glamour' etc) which would make this a lovely pressie. It comes in 4 shades I think. Basil Street which is a pale nude/toffee colour, Piccadilly Circus which is a bright Red/pinkie colour, Saville Row which is a dark purple and one more which is a dark brown colour. To be honest I'm not much of a fan of Nails Inc. I find the formula leaves nails streaky and the brush isn't wide enough for an even colour either but it would make a lovely stocking filler. I have A Glamour subscription so received Basil Street.

Anyway, What do you guys think of a Freebie of the week post?

MAC Lippies

Hey Girlies,

I purchased my first Mac lipsticks last week. eeekkk..

I was a Lipstick virgin until my experiment a few months ago with the L'oreal Riche lipstick. Since that I've decided its defo for me :) (see post about this here)

Luckily my Auntie works for MAC so I put in an order for Snob and St Germain (Half price helps doesn't it). I love bright pinks so thought I might as well go for these two. I've seen there huge hits among bloggers and they can't all be wrong can they?

Anyway, Shall we see some pictures?

Left to Right - St Germain & Snob
Top to Bottom - St Germain & Snob
As you can see St Germain is really bright, but when at work I wear a lot of Black so I like the fact it's so vibrant and brightens up an outfit. Snob is a light pink with a mix of purple in it. It's not as bright as St Germain but still adds a nice touch of colour.

I absolutely Love these lipsticks but my only criticism is they are not very moisturising. In fact they make my lips quite dry so I make sure I put a little bit of lipbalm on before applying.

What colours do you guys swear by? And does any find Mac Lippies dry their lips out?

Sleek Storm palette ♥

Hi Dolls,

Wandering aimlessly around on lunch, I accidentally ended up in Superdrug! How does that happen?

Anyway, seeing as I was already there I decided to have a look at the Sleek goodies. My eyes wandered along all the rows however, one thing stuck out. The Storm Palette. I have never bought a Sleek eyeshadow palette but it was love at first sight and after a play around with the tester I knew it had to be mine. Plus, at £6.50 it would be rude not too right?

I took it back to my desk had another peek at this beauty and have played with it ever since. I've worn it  everyday in the three weeks I've had it and still get excited about opening it up to apply it.

Peek Inside

Swatches
Ps. I have named the colours myself as I couldn't find the official names.
Top Row - Warm Gold (shimmer) Cool Champagne (shimmer) Caramel (Matte) Metallic Gold (Shimmer) Pale Pink (Shimmer) Copper (Shimmer)

The Matte Caramel Colour doesn't come out so well and is rather patchy. I'm not a matte shadow kind of girl so this doesn't bother me personally.

Bottom Row - Dark Bronze (Shimmer) Deep Blue (Shimmer) Forest Green (Shimmer) Midnight Blue (Shimmer) Chocolate (Matte) Black (Matte)

I love the range of shades in this palette, they are very me. I tend to go for more earthy tones such as golds, greens and browns so this will come in VERY handy! The bottom row really compliments the top as you can mix them together and create new shades or do a two toned effect. I use the first Gold from the top all over my eyelids and then the first brown from the bottom on the outer areas. I have even used the Forest Green as an eyeliner.

What do you guys think of this palette?

Body Shop Sale ♥

Hey Guys,

While I was on Lunch yesterday I was walking past Body shop and saw something really exciting. 50% Off Body Butters and more. Well, the minute my brain registered that I obviously couldn't stop my feet walking in.

I had a nose around and although I would have liked to purchase everything, my bank wouldn't allow it (week before payday) so I decided on 3 items.

Left to right
♥ Fuzzy Peach Shower Gel - £2
♥ Carrot Facial Moisurising Cream - £2
♥ Brazil Nut Body Scrub - £5

They had several shower gels in Raspberry ripple, Dewberry, Spiced Pumpkin and a few more but I loved the smell of this. The carrot cream doesn't smell nice but I tested a little on the back of my hand and it's really soft so fingers crossed. The Body Scrub is actually for my mum. She loves scrubs so thought this would be a nice stocking filler. (don't worry, she doesn't read my blog)

They had body butters and Body scrubs for £5, Shower gels, Shampoos, Conditioners and facial cream for £2 and a sale on selected make up items from £4 onwards. The gift boxes are also reduced so perfect Xmas pressies.

Get your bum down to a Body Shop ;)

Glamour & Cecelia Ahearn Event

Hello Chickas,

As you may know (or don't see here) I was lucky enough to win tickets for me & A friend from Glamour Magazine, to go to a little event put on by the Glamour team and the author Cecelia Ahearn. For those of you that don't know about Cecelia, she is the lady who penned the book Ps. I Love you (and several others that should make it on the big screen if you ask me)

I've been reading her books for years and have all of them so when I saw the competition in Glamour mag I knew I had to enter. Then I got an email and had tickets YAY!

The event was held in Selfridges last night and It was amazing. My friend Tara & I walked in and was greeted with rather handsome men giving out Champagne. They had Manicures courtesy of Nars and Brow Threading courtesy of Blink Brow Bar. Obvs, we took full advantage of this and got pampered. After that we helped ourselves to the beautiful cupcakes and got chatting.

Shortly after Cecelia came in and sat on a sofa to have a chat with us and answer questions. I must say she was wearing a beautiful pair of Nude Christian Louboutains. I whispered (not my strongest point) to my my friend "Omg I love her shoes" in which Cecelia replied "Thank you, me too but thank god i'm sitting down I cant walk properly" Ha-ha

Anyway, as people started to ask questions and have a chat with her I couldn't believe how lovely and normal she is. It was like having a chat with your best friend, she's the kind of person who instantly makes you want to be her friend. Also, she is naturally really pretty with perfect skin. (gosh this is sounding like a dating ad)

Moving on to the questions, she gave some brilliant advice for people who would like to write a book. She gave us her experiences and how she puts a book together which was very interesting. Her first piece of advice was get an agent. The publishing world is so confusing and very scary so having someone who knows what they are doing is very important. She said she always comes up with the storyline first and then builds a character for it and finds this method suits her best. She firmly believes in making a character people will be moved by, and told us that as she was writing Ps. I Love you her own tears fell on the page.

It was plain to see she was born to write books as she was so passionate about each one and each character. She also said having the passion is very important to her, if she doesn't enjoy writing a book then there's no point as your audience won't enjoy it. That was her own experience and she did say her biggest piece of advice is not to listen to other peoples advice. ha-ha.

After the chat she signed books, took pictures and had a general chat with everyone which was really nice.

My friend Tara with her

As we were leaving, the lovely Glamour Staff gave us little Goodie bags to take home which included her last book, Nars lip gloss, Glamour Mag, Nivea body Scrub, Hair protectant and other bits and bobs. we had a lovely time meeting her and then popped up to the Beauty Floor to get a few free samples. ;)

Versace for H&M

Hello My Lovelies,

I had a rather exciting email from Marie Claire informing me Versace have teamed up with our High St favourite H&M.

The collection consists of Clothes, Shoes, Jewellery and Accessories and will Launching in 300 stores worldwide and online on November 17. Woohooo! Selfridges will be stocking these items. There is no Price range as of yet but I remember when Roberto Cavalli teamed up with them and the prices were not too in affordable. Fingers crossed this collection will not break the bank.

Dontella Versace says: "The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we've brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can't wait to see how H&M's wide audience will make these pieces their own,"

I've seen a few things I really like. There are a alot of Bold Colours and extravagant Prints which reminds me of the kind of things Katy Perry would wear.

♥ My Favourites of this collection ♥

I love this Red Dress and cannot wait to find out how much it will cost me (or my overdraft) to own it. I love the back and it's definately a dress that will stand out. The Ring and Necklace aren't anything too different to what is out there at the moment but I love them all the same. The Black Dress reminds me of VB dress and I love the Polished look at the moment. Definitely a fan of Kate Middleton's style me thinks.

What do you guys think of the collection? Anything you want to snap up?

♥ My September Loves

Hey Dolls,

Another Month has passed (my lord how quick is the time going?) and I have another few favourite products, Some are newbies and some are oldies I have re-discovered.

1 ♥ Sleek Storm Palette - Like OMG... Why have I never had this in my life? This Palette is amazing and hasn't been of my eyelids since I bought it 3 weeks ago! I will do a full review in the next few days.

2 ♥ Maybelline Cats Eyes Mascara - Any mascara from Maybelline I love and this is just as good. Has a brush curved like the Falsies but it is a lot thinner. Lashes are long as demand attention which I adore.

3 ♥ Superdrug Strawberries & Milkshake Glossy Lip Balm - Smells good, really does moisturise, lovely light pink colour and really shiny. All for £1.09.

4 ♥ Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream - I've had the same tube for over a year and I cannot live without it. It's my repairing lip balm, Eyebrow smoother, Eyelid primer, Cuticle cream, and more all in one.

5 ♥ Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic - I have had this kit for about a year now and it's a lifesaver if you have a spot. The change is weather has upset my skin a bit so I've been using this daily I love it. I think it was one of my ever posts ahhhhh. See full review here
