MAC Lippies

Hey Girlies,

I purchased my first Mac lipsticks last week. eeekkk..

I was a Lipstick virgin until my experiment a few months ago with the L'oreal Riche lipstick. Since that I've decided its defo for me :) (see post about this here)

Luckily my Auntie works for MAC so I put in an order for Snob and St Germain (Half price helps doesn't it). I love bright pinks so thought I might as well go for these two. I've seen there huge hits among bloggers and they can't all be wrong can they?

Anyway, Shall we see some pictures?

Left to Right - St Germain & Snob
Top to Bottom - St Germain & Snob
As you can see St Germain is really bright, but when at work I wear a lot of Black so I like the fact it's so vibrant and brightens up an outfit. Snob is a light pink with a mix of purple in it. It's not as bright as St Germain but still adds a nice touch of colour.

I absolutely Love these lipsticks but my only criticism is they are not very moisturising. In fact they make my lips quite dry so I make sure I put a little bit of lipbalm on before applying.

What colours do you guys swear by? And does any find Mac Lippies dry their lips out?

Sleek Storm palette ♥

Hi Dolls,

Wandering aimlessly around on lunch, I accidentally ended up in Superdrug! How does that happen?

Anyway, seeing as I was already there I decided to have a look at the Sleek goodies. My eyes wandered along all the rows however, one thing stuck out. The Storm Palette. I have never bought a Sleek eyeshadow palette but it was love at first sight and after a play around with the tester I knew it had to be mine. Plus, at £6.50 it would be rude not too right?

I took it back to my desk had another peek at this beauty and have played with it ever since. I've worn it  everyday in the three weeks I've had it and still get excited about opening it up to apply it.

Peek Inside

Swatches
Ps. I have named the colours myself as I couldn't find the official names.
Top Row - Warm Gold (shimmer) Cool Champagne (shimmer) Caramel (Matte) Metallic Gold (Shimmer) Pale Pink (Shimmer) Copper (Shimmer)

The Matte Caramel Colour doesn't come out so well and is rather patchy. I'm not a matte shadow kind of girl so this doesn't bother me personally.

Bottom Row - Dark Bronze (Shimmer) Deep Blue (Shimmer) Forest Green (Shimmer) Midnight Blue (Shimmer) Chocolate (Matte) Black (Matte)

I love the range of shades in this palette, they are very me. I tend to go for more earthy tones such as golds, greens and browns so this will come in VERY handy! The bottom row really compliments the top as you can mix them together and create new shades or do a two toned effect. I use the first Gold from the top all over my eyelids and then the first brown from the bottom on the outer areas. I have even used the Forest Green as an eyeliner.

What do you guys think of this palette?

Body Shop Sale ♥

Hey Guys,

While I was on Lunch yesterday I was walking past Body shop and saw something really exciting. 50% Off Body Butters and more. Well, the minute my brain registered that I obviously couldn't stop my feet walking in.

I had a nose around and although I would have liked to purchase everything, my bank wouldn't allow it (week before payday) so I decided on 3 items.

Left to right
♥ Fuzzy Peach Shower Gel - £2
♥ Carrot Facial Moisurising Cream - £2
♥ Brazil Nut Body Scrub - £5

They had several shower gels in Raspberry ripple, Dewberry, Spiced Pumpkin and a few more but I loved the smell of this. The carrot cream doesn't smell nice but I tested a little on the back of my hand and it's really soft so fingers crossed. The Body Scrub is actually for my mum. She loves scrubs so thought this would be a nice stocking filler. (don't worry, she doesn't read my blog)

They had body butters and Body scrubs for £5, Shower gels, Shampoos, Conditioners and facial cream for £2 and a sale on selected make up items from £4 onwards. The gift boxes are also reduced so perfect Xmas pressies.

Get your bum down to a Body Shop ;)

Glamour & Cecelia Ahearn Event

Hello Chickas,

As you may know (or don't see here) I was lucky enough to win tickets for me & A friend from Glamour Magazine, to go to a little event put on by the Glamour team and the author Cecelia Ahearn. For those of you that don't know about Cecelia, she is the lady who penned the book Ps. I Love you (and several others that should make it on the big screen if you ask me)

I've been reading her books for years and have all of them so when I saw the competition in Glamour mag I knew I had to enter. Then I got an email and had tickets YAY!

The event was held in Selfridges last night and It was amazing. My friend Tara & I walked in and was greeted with rather handsome men giving out Champagne. They had Manicures courtesy of Nars and Brow Threading courtesy of Blink Brow Bar. Obvs, we took full advantage of this and got pampered. After that we helped ourselves to the beautiful cupcakes and got chatting.

Shortly after Cecelia came in and sat on a sofa to have a chat with us and answer questions. I must say she was wearing a beautiful pair of Nude Christian Louboutains. I whispered (not my strongest point) to my my friend "Omg I love her shoes" in which Cecelia replied "Thank you, me too but thank god i'm sitting down I cant walk properly" Ha-ha

Anyway, as people started to ask questions and have a chat with her I couldn't believe how lovely and normal she is. It was like having a chat with your best friend, she's the kind of person who instantly makes you want to be her friend. Also, she is naturally really pretty with perfect skin. (gosh this is sounding like a dating ad)

Moving on to the questions, she gave some brilliant advice for people who would like to write a book. She gave us her experiences and how she puts a book together which was very interesting. Her first piece of advice was get an agent. The publishing world is so confusing and very scary so having someone who knows what they are doing is very important. She said she always comes up with the storyline first and then builds a character for it and finds this method suits her best. She firmly believes in making a character people will be moved by, and told us that as she was writing Ps. I Love you her own tears fell on the page.

It was plain to see she was born to write books as she was so passionate about each one and each character. She also said having the passion is very important to her, if she doesn't enjoy writing a book then there's no point as your audience won't enjoy it. That was her own experience and she did say her biggest piece of advice is not to listen to other peoples advice. ha-ha.

After the chat she signed books, took pictures and had a general chat with everyone which was really nice.

My friend Tara with her

As we were leaving, the lovely Glamour Staff gave us little Goodie bags to take home which included her last book, Nars lip gloss, Glamour Mag, Nivea body Scrub, Hair protectant and other bits and bobs. we had a lovely time meeting her and then popped up to the Beauty Floor to get a few free samples. ;)

Versace for H&M

Hello My Lovelies,

I had a rather exciting email from Marie Claire informing me Versace have teamed up with our High St favourite H&M.

The collection consists of Clothes, Shoes, Jewellery and Accessories and will Launching in 300 stores worldwide and online on November 17. Woohooo! Selfridges will be stocking these items. There is no Price range as of yet but I remember when Roberto Cavalli teamed up with them and the prices were not too in affordable. Fingers crossed this collection will not break the bank.

Dontella Versace says: "The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we've brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can't wait to see how H&M's wide audience will make these pieces their own,"

I've seen a few things I really like. There are a alot of Bold Colours and extravagant Prints which reminds me of the kind of things Katy Perry would wear.

Check out the full collection here

♥ My Favourites of this collection ♥

I love this Red Dress and cannot wait to find out how much it will cost me (or my overdraft) to own it. I love the back and it's definately a dress that will stand out. The Ring and Necklace aren't anything too different to what is out there at the moment but I love them all the same. The Black Dress reminds me of VB dress and I love the Polished look at the moment. Definitely a fan of Kate Middleton's style me thinks.

What do you guys think of the collection? Anything you want to snap up?

♥ My September Loves

Hey Dolls,

Another Month has passed (my lord how quick is the time going?) and I have another few favourite products, Some are newbies and some are oldies I have re-discovered.

1 ♥ Sleek Storm Palette - Like OMG... Why have I never had this in my life? This Palette is amazing and hasn't been of my eyelids since I bought it 3 weeks ago! I will do a full review in the next few days.

2 ♥ Maybelline Cats Eyes Mascara - Any mascara from Maybelline I love and this is just as good. Has a brush curved like the Falsies but it is a lot thinner. Lashes are long as demand attention which I adore.

3 ♥ Superdrug Strawberries & Milkshake Glossy Lip Balm - Smells good, really does moisturise, lovely light pink colour and really shiny. All for £1.09.

4 ♥ Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream - I've had the same tube for over a year and I cannot live without it. It's my repairing lip balm, Eyebrow smoother, Eyelid primer, Cuticle cream, and more all in one.

5 ♥ Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic - I have had this kit for about a year now and it's a lifesaver if you have a spot. The change is weather has upset my skin a bit so I've been using this daily I love it. I think it was one of my ever posts ahhhhh. See full review here

♥ Glossybox - October

Hey Dolls,

I have no idea where the time is going but I Love it. My Glossybox is coming quicker and quicker and there's now less time until Christmas! Woohooo..

Anyway, The Glossybox.... This Months has received mixed reviews but I personally really like it. Also, the Glossybox team decided to add an extra something in order to celebrate 6 months of Glossybox.

Lets have a look shall we?

Left to Right
♥ Dermalogica Beauty Case (the added extra)
♥ Dermalogica Multivitamin Recovery Masque - Sample
♥ Dermalogica Age Smart MultiVitamin Thermafoliant - Sample
♥ Dermalogica Age Smart Renewal Lip Complex - Sample
♥ Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner (In Moray) - Full Size
♥ 3 miniature scents from Robert Piguet Eau De Parfums – Fracas de Robert Piguet, Visa De Robert Piguet and Calypso de Robert Piguet
♥ Leighton Denny Expert Nails Colour and Care (in Bearly there) - Full Size

I am really happy with the Dermalogica Products. I'm big on skincare and products from this brand are widely raved about. A few of my friends use them and they really do work. The tubes are small (15ml) but a little goes a long way especially with the Skin Polish. I used a tiny amount with amazing results so I recon I could get about 10 uses out of this. YAY!
With Regards to the Renewal Lip Complex (1ml) I'm really happy about this. Dermalogica say its a "hydrating daily lip treatment for mature and prematurely-ageing skin"
Winter is finally settling in and I can already feel my lips getting drier so this will be a godsend.

The extra celebratory product was the Dermalogica Beauty Case, which doesn't look pretty and girly but feels really sturdy. I won't be using this for make-up etc but I do need a little wash bag for my toothbrush, facial wash etc when I go away so this will come in handy.

After the Dermalogica stuff my second favourite is the Leighton Denny Expert Nails polish. I currently own 30+ polishes but I love it so much because of the colour. I LOVE pink polish, especially baby pink so I am over the moon about it. I had a little test yesterday and it's easy to apply, it's good quality and looks lovely on. Also its a full size product which retails at £11 so that's the cost of the box basically covered. Expect to see this in a future post.

I love the Stila Smudge Stick Eyeliner. I love a bit of eyeliner but I really love the colour of this one. It's called Moray and is a pretty Olive Green colour with bits of Gold sparkle in it. I have green eyes so when I had a play around it really brought them out. This retails at £13 and I will definitely be using this with my Autumn coloured shadows.

With Regards to the Robert Piguet Perfumes I love the fact they were packaged in a little pink chiffon bag. It was a nice little extra touch and I plan to re-use this bag for a little present I'm getting my mum. The Perfumes themselves aren't to my own personal preference but out of the three I do like Fracas the best. It's the most Fresh and Floral like which is more to my tastes. Visa is a very musky smell that is a little too mature for me and I don't like musk. Calypso reminds me of holidays in the sense of a fragranced hotel room or a rum cocktail and incense sticks.
All in All I really like this months box and am excited to get to know my products more. Roll on Novembers Box!

Charles Worthington Straightening treatment: Week 3

Hey My Lovelies,

Another week passed and my hair has officially gone back to normal.
When I straighten it, admittedly it does last longer than usual but the kinks are back. I have also been noticing a funny smell to my hair. It smells like it hasn't been washed for about a week even just after washing it. It's been like this since I used the product so I can't see what else could be causing this :(

♥ Overview ♥

Pros:
♥ Does leave hair straighter and less frizzy
♥ Doesn't dry hair out
♥ Takes me half the time to straighten

Cons:
♥ Price: I wouldn't pay £20 for something that only lasts a week or two
♥ The Smell is indescribably BAD
♥ My hair has a funny smell ever since.. hmmmmmm...
♥ It hasn't lasted very long. It doesn't claim to make it perfectly straight and it does tell you it only lasts *up to 40 days depending on hair type but I'm just a little disappointed it hasn't lasted longer. It claims an at home Salon Straightening Treatment but in the salon they perm it straight and the effects are perfectly straight hair for weeks. This unfortunately does not cut it.

At the end of my tests I can report I wouldn't buy/use this again. I don't mind spending a few extra mins straighening my hair and saving £20.

Charles Worthington Straightening Treatment: Two weeks on

Hey Dolls,

As promised, This is my two week update to let you know how my hair is getting on after using the new Charles Worthington At Home Straightening Treatment.

If your not familiar with the treatment or what I'm going on about please see my original post Here and my week one update Here

Well, as I told you in the week 1 update my hair started to loose it's straightness. I washed it and let it dry naturally and although it's not as straight as it first was, it's still better than it normally is. I did give in and straighten it with my GHD's and it only took a few minutes and lasted 3 days despite being poured on by heavy rain, so although I wasn't impressed last week I've had a small change of heart this week. Maybe straightening it makes it work again. Hmmmmm.

Lets see how this week goes shall we?

Shopping Gone Mad ♥

Hello Chickas!

I hope you're all enjoying the weather.

Okay I was supposed to be on a spending ban but I only spent £46 and got some great stuff. What? It's rude not too ;)

It's been beautiful weather and what better way celebrate a summers day then with a spot of shopping? :)

I had to take my car to the Mechanics at 9am for it's MOT and it just so happened the garage is a two minute walk to Croydon town centre. How convenient :D

Primark on a Saturday is Hell on earth but at 9.15am it was all tidy and empty so the shopping commenced and guess what? They had a huge footwear sale! £3 for Heels? YES PLEASE!

Shoes
Left to Right
Mink Suede Cork Heels - £3
Brown Sandal Heels - £3
Dark Brown Heels - £3
Black Suede Wedges - £16

Four pairs of shoes for £25 and Three of them were £3!! On top of that they were all my size (size 5, like the most popular shoe size) If only you had been there, I looked like such a dodgy character. Eyes darting across the shop floor, jaw wide open and an astonished look on my face. Well as you can imagine my hands grabbed these bad boys and they went straight into the safety net of my basket.

Once I had realised the shoes were safe and the basket would not be leaving my arm, I had a browse around for other goodies.

♥ Other Goodies ♥
Left to Right
♥ Foundation - £2 (on sale) I only bought this for the brush but as it turns out its a really velvety mixture that will be a good base
♥ French Tip Nails - £1
♥ Bow Tights - £3 I love these tights. I'm going to wear them with my LBD and my new black wedges on our anniversary dinner.

So after Primark I had a little nose around for some other bargains and found these :)

Hope your all having a lovely weekend!

Any other Bargains I'm missing out on?
